Today is a good day to start something new, so A BONJOUR begins with one of my most favorite memories in Paris. Cruising along La Seine is a fantastic way to see many of the historic sites in Paris including not only Le Tour Eiffel, but the Le Musée d'Orsay, Le Louvre and La Cathédrale Notre Dame. There are a number of different companies that run cruises on the Seine with some offering full lunches and dinners as part of the ticket price. We thoroughly enjoyed the one hour cruise offered by the Bateaux Parisiens. We were even more excited to find there was virtually no line at the ticket booth near the Eiffel Tower for an early evening cruise during the height of the tourist season. A croisière (cruise) is a nice change of pace for visitors of all ages to Paris.
You can purchase tickets online on the Bateaux Parisiens' website or you can buy tickets at the foot of the Eiffel Tower or Notre Dame. Be sure to check the website for further details on departures times as well as seasonal closures. It appears that the departures from Notre Dame are only available from April to November.
