J'adore faire du lèche-vitrines when I am in Paris! But my favorite time of the year for faire du lèche-vitrines (literally licking the windows) is the holiday season. The grand department stores like Printemps, 64, Boulevard Haussmann, 75009 and Galeries Lafayette, 40, Boulevard Haussmann, 75009 go all out decorating their windows beginning in mid-November. Each year the department stores have a different theme for their windows.
This year the windows at Printemps tell the story of a young boy and his teddy bear traveling from Burberry's Regent Street flagship store in London to Printemps in Paris. Beautiful winter wonderland scenes along with gorgeous clothing and accessories from Burberry provide the backdrop for this holiday tale.
While the Galeries Lafayette puts a more lighthearted twist on the season with adorable (and mischievous) monsters taking over the windows. These little creatures can also be spotted throughout the store and are the likely culprits for the upside down Christmas tree.
