Délices du Palais

Not sure if you heard the news? Antonio Teixeira from the Délices du Palais60 boulevard Brune, 75014 placed first in the 2014 Grand Prix de la Baguette de Tradition Française de la Ville de Paris. The winner is awarded a prize of 4000 euros and has the opportunity to provide baguettes to French President Francois Holland's Elysee Palace for one year.

I am happy for Monsieur Teixeria. It is quite an honor in a city with delicious bread to be had on just about every block. But I also was excited when I realized that Délices du Palais is a quick 2 minute walk from the Vanves Flea Market. Picking up a few treasures at the flea market and then grabbing the best baguette in town for lunch sounds lovely. (Please note: according to Paris by Mouth the boulangerie is closed on Wednesdays.)
