Frenchie

I recently found out that Frenchie: New Bistro Cooking is coming out in English and is going to be available in April. French born and trained, Greg Marchand started Frenchie, 5-6 rue de Nil, 75002 in 2009 after spending time working in New York, London, Spain and Hong Kong. The seasonal menu offers just two choices for appetizers and the main dish, but with food that is just that good...there is no need for more offerings. It is difficult to get a reservation to the bistro with a handful of tables and only two seatings a night (but online reservations are available here). If you can't get a table, I would highly recommend popping across the street to the Frenchie Wine Bar for a sampling of what the bistro has to offer. When I went to the wine bar, we arrived about twenty minutes before it opened and were able to easily get a table. I haven't been to the recently opened French To Go9 rue du Nil, 75002, but it serves breakfast and lunch that you can either eat in the restaurant or take it to go. Even if you can't make it to any of the Frenchie establishments in Paris, you can try your hand at making something à la Frenchie when the cookbook is released in April.
