La Pagode Cinema

The film award season is upon us and if I had my druthers I would catch up on all the nominees at La Pagode57 bis, rue de Babylone, 75007. But to be honest, it would be a treat to see any film in this beautiful theater that was at one time was an actual Japanese pagoda. Unfortunately, my photos of the interior did not turn out, but check out these photos (here) from the cinema's website. As you can see, there are two theaters - one with ornate Asian decor and the other with a more modern design. The theater's website is a bit tricky to navigate unless you can read French. So check out this website for information on movie times at La Pagode as well as other theaters in Paris.

P.S. There are a number of theaters in Paris where you can watch films in English. If you would like to watch a movie in English, look for American movies designated version originale (VO). The VO signifies the movie is shown in the original language with French subtitles versus version française (VF).
